In 1993 the first Susanne Wilson Environmental Achievement Awards were presented to publicly recognize facilities in Santa Clara County that have significantly reduced hazardous waste generation. There are separate categories for large, small, and medium-sized facilities, and one for non-profit/public education programs. The awards are presented every two years.
